Two arrests made in relation to drug dealing

Dear Resident,

Thanks to your ongoing reports, our neighbourhood officers have made two arrests in relation to drug dealing:

Our city centre officers were on patrol near Stanley Rec when they witnessed a suspected drug deal. The suspect tried to run but our eastern officers were on patrol nearby and were able to intercept! A 21-year-old man was charged with possession with intent to supply cannabis after a large quantity of the class B drug was found. He was charged and is due to appear in court this month.

Our eastern officers were on patrol in Lincoln Road when they saw a teenage boy approach a group of known drug dealers and carry out a suspected drug deal. He tried to run but officers detained him in Stone Lane and found a large amount of cash and cannabis. He was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug and being in possession of a class B drug, and has since been bailed until September.

Do you have concerns about drug dealing? Report it to us here.

Kind regards,
